Dr Ng graduated from Imperial College in 1999 with Honours, Distinction in Surgery and Anthony de Rothschild Medal. He was Specialist Registrar at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham UK under Mr. Tim Graham. In 2007 he received his FRCSEd(CTh), and subsequently Doctorate of Medicine in research (MD(Res)) from University of London. He is an elected Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP) and Asian Pacific Society of Respirology (FAPSR).
Dr Ng is a pioneer in SPVATS in the region performing Hong Kong’s first SPVATS lobectomy in 2012. In 2013, he founded the Asian Single Port VATS Symposium. Recently, his work in hybrid OR (HOR) has led to world’s first publications of HOR use in SPVATS major lung resection, and HOR image-guided ENB. He is Program Director of ENB Workshop & ENB PACES Clinical Program in the region.
Academic contributions: 23 book chapters (including Pearson’s Thoracic & Esophageal Surgery, Shield’s Thoracic Surgery), > 50 abstracts, and 190 publications in peer-reviewed indexed international journals.
Editor of books: Atlas of Uniportal Video Assisted Thoracic Surgery; andLung Cancer. Editorial Board: EJCTS, Innovations, Journal of Thoracic Disease and others. Board of Director ISMICS; Board of APTAB; Executive Board of ATEP; Fellowship examiner for RCS of Edinburgh and CSHK.
